Planning a “Quickie” Beach Wedding: 25 Potential Problems and Simple Solutions-Part 4

Welcome back, dear readers! It’s time for Part 4 of our 5-part blog series on planning a “Quickie” Beach Wedding. In this segment, we’ll be discussing 5 more potential problems that can arise during the planning process and offer simple solutions to ensure your big day goes off without a hitch.

As we’ve mentioned before, planning a beach wedding can have its challenges, especially when it’s a “quickie” wedding. But fear not, with a little planning and creativity, you can have a beautiful and memorable beach wedding that you and your guests will never forget.

In Part 1 of our series, we discussed venues, invitations and dress shopping.  Check it out here.

In Part 2, we talked about vendors, legal requirements, planning and, or course, the cake.  Read it here.

And in Part 3 we looked at problems and solutions associated with hair and makeup, photography, and music.  Find it here.

Now, in Part 4, we’ll be discussing 5 more potential problems that can arise during the planning process.

16. Planning the honeymoon

First and foremost, the biggest problem that can arise when planning a honeymoon for a quickie beach wedding is the availability of accommodations.  Beach destinations tend to book up quickly, especially during peak travel seasons.

To avoid disappointment, it’s important to start your search for accommodations as soon as possible. Consider alternative dates or destinations if your preferred options are not available.

Another issue that can arise is the cost of the honeymoon. Weddings are expensive, and couples may not have a lot of money left over for a luxurious honeymoon.

One solution is to take advantage of honeymoon packages offered by hotels and resorts. These packages often include discounts on accommodations, meals, and activities, and can be a great way to save money.

And weather can also be a problem when planning a beach honeymoon. No one wants to be stuck inside their hotel room due to rain or other inclement weather.

Research the climate and weather patterns of your chosen destination before booking your honeymoon. Consider booking travel insurance in case of unexpected weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

17. Rushing the ring shopping

One of the biggest issues that can arise is not having enough time to properly choose and order the rings.  Your rings are the symbol of your love and commitment, and you will treasure them forever, so you want to make sure you get the perfect rings.

It’s important to take the time to do some research and find a reputable jeweler who can help you select the perfect rings for your special day. Don’t rush into buying the first rings you see just because you’re short on time.

Another problem that can arise is sizing issues. If you’re ordering your rings last minute, there may not be enough time to get the correct size for both you and your partner.

To avoid this, consider purchasing adjustable rings or silicone bands that can be resized later. It’s better to have a temporary solution than to not have rings at all!

And – most importantly – don’t forget to bring the rings with you on the big day. It may sound obvious, but with all the excitement and hustle and bustle of the day, it’s easy to forget something as important as the rings.

Have a designated person responsible for bringing the rings and make sure they know where they are at all times.

18. Planning the food

One of the biggest issues that can arise is finding a caterer who is available and willing to cater a last-minute wedding.

It’s important to start your search for a caterer as soon as possible and be upfront about your timeline. Consider reaching out to local restaurants or food trucks that may be able to accommodate your needs on short notice.

Another problem that can arise is selecting the menu. It’s important to consider the tastes and dietary restrictions of your guests when planning the menu.

Consider offering a variety of options to accommodate everyone’s needs.

It’s also important to consider the logistics of serving food on the beach.

Choose foods that can be easily transported and served in a casual setting.

And don’t forget about the drinks.  It’s important to have refreshing beverages available for your guests, especially if you’re getting married in a hot and sunny location.

Consider serving a signature cocktail or mocktail that ties in with your beach wedding theme.

19. Wedding favors

One of the biggest issues that can arise is finding wedding favors that are appropriate for a beach wedding and are also easy to transport.

Consider favors that are small and lightweight, such as mini beach bags filled with sunscreen, sunglasses, and other beach essentials. Another great idea is personalized water bottles that your guests can use on the day of the wedding and take home as a memento.

Another problem that can arise is finding favors that are both practical and meaningful. You want your guests to feel appreciated and special, but you also don’t want to give them something that they will never use.

Consider favors that tie in with your beach wedding theme, such as personalized seashell candles, or small jars of local honey or sea salt.

Also, don’t forget to budget accordingly. While wedding favors may seem like a small detail, they can add up quickly, especially if you’re planning a last-minute wedding.

Consider DIY favors or purchasing items in bulk to save money.

20. Wedding decor

One issue that can arise is finding the right decor to fit your beach wedding theme. It’s important to consider the location and style of your wedding when selecting decor.

Some ideas for beach-themed decor include seashells, starfish, and driftwood. Incorporating natural elements such as these can add a beautiful and rustic touch to your wedding.

Another problem that you may face is the wind. Beach weddings can be windy, which can cause problems with decor such as tablecloths and centerpieces.

Consider using heavier decor or tying down lighter items to prevent them from blowing away. For example, you could use rocks or sand to anchor tablecloths or place votive candles in glass holders to prevent them from tipping over.

And don’t forget about lighting. The right lighting can create a magical atmosphere for your beach wedding.

Consider using string lights or lanterns to add a warm and romantic glow to your wedding. Additionally, consider the timing of your wedding to take advantage of the natural lighting of the beach.

Thank you for joining us for Part 4 of our blog series, and we look forward to seeing you in Part 5.

Until then, keep planning your dream beach wedding and remember to enjoy every moment of your special day.

Happy wedding planning!
